Who makes Kirkland Signature Sparkling Water, Variety Pack, 12 fl oz, 35-count?
As of July 5, 2026, evidence points to Niagara Bottling as the manufacturer of Kirkland Signature Sparkling Water, Variety Pack, 12 fl oz, 35-count, but no tier 1–3 source names the link directly.
The common claim
What’s commonly claimed, and what the evidence supports
Costco's canned sparkling water is pitched as a LaCroix alternative, and the popular answer is that Niagara Bottling makes it, the same company named for Kirkland's still water; a few low-quality pages instead claim Nestle Waters. The documented support points to Niagara: a 2005 Forbes profile establishes Niagara as Costco's private-label water supplier, and two 2024-2025 food-media pieces name Niagara for the Kirkland sparkling line, lime flavor included. Because the canned format post-dates the Forbes anchor and no tier 1-4 source names this exact SKU, the evidence indicates Niagara rather than confirming it. No evidence backs the Nestle Waters claim.
Evidence & sources
Each source is graded on the six-tier evidence rubric, where tier 1 is strongest. Sources are archived, so a citation still works if the original page moves or goes behind a paywall.
Tier 4
Forbes profile of Niagara Bottling documenting the Niagara-Costco private-label bottled-water relationship: "Niagara can do minimum private-label orders of 20,000 bottles, supplying a chain of Costcos or a single casino." Indirect and pre-dates the 2018 canned sparkling launch, so it anchors the relationship but not this specific line. Status caps at probable.
Tier 6
"Niagara offers alkaline water, sparkling water (in flavors like lime...)" and attributes the Kirkland water line to Niagara Bottling. Tier-6 naming that reaches the flavored sparkling product specifically (lime is a Kirkland canned flavor); recency corroboration of the tier-4 Forbes anchor, no primary evidence of its own.
Tier 6
"Kirkland Signature bottled water is produced by Niagara Bottling in California" and lists sparkling water among the varieties; "Niagara is a private label bottler, meaning it produces for many other" brands. Second tier-6 outlet naming Niagara for the Kirkland sparkling line; unsourced, cited as corroboration.
