Who makes Kirkland Signature Protein Bar, Variety Pack, 2.12 oz, 20-count?
As of September 9, 2026, evidence points to Come Ready Foods, LLC (Ready Nutrition) as the manufacturer of Kirkland Signature Protein Bar, Variety Pack, 2.12 oz, 20-count, but no tier 1–3 source names the link directly.
The common claim
What’s commonly claimed, and what the evidence supports
The prevailing online claim treats the Kirkland bars as Quest-bar copycats and guesses that Quest Nutrition (The Simply Good Foods Co.) or Premier Nutrition supplies them. No tier 1-5 evidence supports either name: Chowhound (March 2025) could not confirm the maker and noted Quest Nutrition produces its own bars. Costco's own catalog data instead names Come Ready Foods, LLC — the Wexford, Pennsylvania company behind Ready-brand protein bars, which Costco also stocks — so the evidence points to Come Ready Foods.
Evidence & sources
Each source is graded on the six-tier evidence rubric, where tier 1 is strongest. Sources are archived, so a citation still works if the original page moves or goes behind a paywall.
Tier 4
Costco's own product data embedded in the listing names 'COME READY NUTRITION' / 'COME READY FOODS LLC' in its manufacturer field for this exact item. Come Ready Foods, LLC of Wexford, Pennsylvania is the company behind Ready-brand protein bars, which Costco also sells. Field reliability was cross-checked against two known ground truths (Kirkland diapers listing → 'FIRST QUALITY CONSUMER PR', matching the Bloomberg-confirmed switch; Kirkland AA batteries → 'DURACELL DISTRIBUTING INC', matching the exec-confirmed attribution). Graded probable, not confirmed: machine-readable catalog data naming a supplier of record, with no press or regulatory corroboration for this product. Re-read on 2026-09-09 from the 2025-12-11 archive capture: the manufacturer field still reads 'COME READY FOODS LLC' / 'COME READY NUTRITION'; the live page returns 403 to automation.
Tier 4
Second Kirkland protein-bar listing carrying the same 'COME READY FOODS LLC' / 'COME READY NUTRITION' manufacturer field (December 2025 capture) — the naming applies across the Kirkland protein-bar line, not a single SKU. Re-read on 2026-09-09 from the 2025-12-31 archive capture: the manufacturer field still reads 'COME READY FOODS LLC' / 'COME READY NUTRITION'.
Tier 6
Debunk source for the prevailing claim: reports the Kirkland and Quest bars come from different companies, that 'it's a little more difficult to nail down who actually makes Kirkland Signature protein bars,' and that it 'couldn't confirm the exact manufacturer', while noting Quest Nutrition (acquired by The Simply Good Foods Co. in 2019) produces its own bars. Its Leclerc Foods mention is explicit speculation. Establishes that no published source names the Kirkland maker.
